Brand: Groz

Color: Grey

Features:

  • SLIDE THE JAW INSTEAD OF CRANKING IT - Stop wasting shop time spinning the handle across a 13-1/2' opening; a single counter-clockwise turn disengages the screw so the front jaw slides freely to your stock, then a clockwise turn re-engages and clamps.
  • HEAVY CAST IRON BUILT FOR DAILY BENCH WORK - Manufactured from close-grained grey cast iron with a 13.75 kg / 30.3 lb body and 9' jaw width to absorb planing, sawing, chiseling, and mallet work without flex or chatter on a hardwood bench.
  • TOE-IN JAWS GRIP THE FULL DEPTH OF THE STOCK - Vise jaws are machined with a TOE-IN feature so the tops meet first as you tighten, pulling parallel under load and clamping evenly down the entire depth of boards, panels, and door stiles.
  • BUTTRESS-THREAD MAIN SCREW FOR ACCURATE HOLD - The main screw uses buttress threads on accurately machined housings for smooth, responsive adjustment and high holding force in the clamping direction, ideal for joinery, glue-ups, and hand-tool work.
  • PROFESSIONAL WOODWORKING VISE FOR THE WORKBENCH - Mounts under the front edge of a workbench for cabinetmakers, furniture builders, joiners, instrument makers, and serious DIY woodworkers; jaw faces accept a wooden liner to protect finished stock.

Details: The Groz 9' Rapid Action Woodworking Vise (39012) replaces the slow, repetitive cranking of a conventional quick-release vise with a true rapid-action mechanism. Tighten the handle in the usual clockwise direction; the moment you turn it counter-clockwise the screw disengages and the front jaw slides freely across the full 13-1/2' (330 mm) opening. Reposition to your stock in seconds, then re-engage and clamp.
Built from close-grained grey cast iron with accurately machined housings and a buttress-thread main screw, this 9' jaw, 13.75 kg vise is engineered for daily bench use. The TOE-IN jaws are designed to meet at the top first so they pull parallel as you tighten, distributing pressure evenly down the full depth of boards, panels, and door parts. Jaw faces are drilled to accept a wooden liner to protect finished stock.
Mounts under the front apron of a workbench for cabinetmaking, furniture building, joinery, hand-plane work, sawing, chiseling, glue-ups, and general shop fixturing. A workhorse front vise for woodworkers who value speed, precision, and a solid grip.
