Details: Stop wasting money on sledge hammers with handles that splinter, crack, or work loose under heavy use. The Groz Heavy Duty Sledge Hammer (34520) is the BIG BOY of the Indestructible Handle family — a 14 lb (6.3 kg) forged head paired with a 36' (900 mm) handle engineered to take a beating job after job.
The head is forged from special steel and induction case hardened to 50-58 HRC, making it ideal for heavy demolition where the struck surface is softer than the hammer face. Six spring steel bars run the length of the handle and are locked to the head with steel plates, while a special bonding process ensures the head and handle never get loose. An ergonomic rubber grip absorbs vibration and reduces operator fatigue during long strike sessions.
Built to BS 876 for material, hardness, and performance, and compliant with SANS 387:2014 and ANSI standards. Working temperature range -10°C to 50°C (14°F to 122°F). Use for driving stakes and fence posts, fracturing stone and concrete, rebar and railroad work, bending and shaping metal, and police, fire, and rescue applications. Do not strike objects harder than 46 HRC. (34520)
