The Spee-D Channel Drain Grate works with the Spee-D Channel Drain, part of the NDS Profile Channel series, to drain moderate water flows from driveways, patios, pool areas, courtyards, and walkways. The drain grate (or drain cover) is made of polyethylene treated with UV inhibitors. Has an open surface area of 16.8 sq. in./ft., 51 GPM/ft. flow rate, and is ADA compliant. Channel drains, also called trench drains, are long, narrow drains used for surface drainage of hardscapes. As part of a complete drainage system, channel drains collect and convey water to drain pipes, which carry the water downstream to discharge with a pop-up emitter, or to percolate into the ground with a dry well or infiltration trench.
